Abstract
The revolution in digital technology and the development in communications have led to the emergence of the digital environment as a fertile space for the widespread and rapid exchange of personal data and information. This has facilitated the emergence of threats to the private lives of individuals. Additionally, it has threatened the right to privacy, which is considered one of the most important rights inherent to the individual’s personality, as this right has become more vulnerable to violations and attacks. Further, this reality has prompted specialists worldwide to develop an integrated legal system that guarantees the protection of privacy in the virtual environment. Also, it ensures the fundamental rights and freedom upheld under international treaties and national constitutional frameworks. On the other hand, it has also prompted efforts to develop national laws in line with modern technological developments, in order to establish a more accurate definition of private life in the digital environment.
