Abstract
The digital revolution and rapid digital transformation have led to a radical change in the statistical landscape, with microdata evolving as one of the most prominent digital innovations that has transcended geographical boundaries and targeted people, businesses, and communities. Further, these emerging crimes refer to illegal acts committed through or against digital systems. While traditional criminal laws cover some of these acts, such as fraud or theft, they are often inadequate to address the specific challenges of cybercrime, including cross-border transgressions and anonymity. Eventually, all of this led to the emergence of the need for specialized legal frameworks and international cooperation to effectively combat cybercrime, including cross-border transgressions and anonymity, which require new legal definitions and enforcement strategies to ensure accountability and protection for victims.
