Abstract

This study analyzes the repercussions of the Corona pandemic on the continuity of employment contracts, especially in light of the Lebanese economic crisis. Additionally, it examines the legal adaptation of the pandemic in the context of force majeure and emergency circumstances, analyzing their impact on employer-employee relationships. Further, the study highlights the importance of assessing each contract’s specifics and reviews preventive measures for contractual stability, including deadline suspensions and the implementation of good faith principles in occupational safety. In this context, it examines the shift to remote work and the operational challenges involved, assessing contract suspension and its effects on wages. Also, it highlights the Index Committee’s strategic role in protecting employees’ purchasing power and ensuring social stability during economic crises. Therefore, the study concludes that it is necessary to develop the Lebanese legislative organization in a way that provides clarity in adaptation, enhances protection tools, and establishes a balance between the continuity of the institution and the preservation of employee rights.
